Jerry Sloan and My Dad Have Something in Common

At what piece of technology will our kids look at us and shake their heads? (Aish, do you remember when Lyle said, "Hey Dave, how's your connection to E-Bay?" Yeah. That's what I thought of when I saw this.)

P.S. We heart the Jazz.

Peeps

I don't mean a term for "close friends or peers" (i.e. "I need my peeps.") I mean actual marshmallow, sugar coated Peeps. There are two types of people in this world. Those who love peeps and those who don't. I do. Paul doesn't. So imagine the thrill I got the other day when I bought my first pack of the season and got to enjoy them all by myself, no sharing involved. Best treat of the week.

March Madness

Snippets of what's going on...
1. The Wedding of the Year. My brother,Jake, got married last weekend. It was a fantastic day and everything seemed to go swimmingly. Here are a few pics of the reception. Welcome to the fam, Emily!

2. NCAA Basketball. We made it interesting this year. The losing bracket, has to plan our anniversary. I know what you're thinking, "Lindsay, Paul knows way more about sports than you do. He knows every mascot of every team. He can remember championships from 1990 on. He listens to podcasts of his favorite sports writers. He checks ESPN.com multiple times a day. Are you crazy for making a deal like this?" I know, the odds are against me winning this thing (and trust me, they are getting slimmer and slimmer as the weekend progresses). Here's the thing though...if I hadn't made this deal the odds of me planning the anniversary were 100%; with the deal, they are 50% (maybe 70% or 80% seeing as I had Utah State going to the Sweet 16).
3. We think we have a place in DC to live. Fingers crossed, we will be settled in Alexandria, and instead of being a mile away from an LDS temple, we will be a mile away from the Masonic Temple. Not quite the same, but we are glad to have a place settled.
4. Running. I am happy to report that I had a great run last night. The first time in a while that I felt like my old running self.

That's about it. Time is of the essence these days, so we'll leave it at that.

Comedy

What are we going to do for entertainment around here once we no longer have a 2 year-old?

Sabrina: The green is go and the red is stop. The yellow is slow down. (explaining the traffic lights).
Mom decides to gun it through a yellow light that turned red at the last minute.
Sabrina: MOM!! Stop! Stop, mom! The red is STOP! (repeated for over 20 minutes; she has a serious dramatic side)

Sabrina: I came out your belly and Lucy came out of Kasey's belly (I mentioned one day that Kasey [who stopped by one day and Sabrina hasn't forgotten her] was having a baby, and it's been a topic of several conversations)
Me: No, Lucy came out of my belly too.
Sabrina: Yeah, Kasey has a boy Lucy.

In the tub I was wiping down her face with a rag when she bit my finger (not intentionally, I don't think).
Me: Ouch! (It really did hurt) Don't bite my finger.
Sabrina: No, I didn't! You bite my finger! (She holds up her finger that has a mysterious scratch on it)

While watching a scene from Cinderella:
Shelley: Ooh, that's neat.
Sabrina: It's amazing.

I gave her a thumbs up the other day for doing something (I don't even remember what)and she responded by cheesing and holding up her pointer finger back to me. (Paul: Aren't you glad we never wasted our time with baby sign language with her?)

Sabrina: Twinkle, twinkle little CAR! (laughs heartily) How I wonder what you CAT! (laughs heartily) Up Above the World So DOLLY! (again laughter) Like a diamond in the SLIDE! (laughs), and so on, and so on.

I'm hoping that one day we can once again get out the door on time, not bring toys with us wherever we go, have a "cleaner" instead of an "uncleaner", but I hope the independence, wit, and charm of this girl never changes.

Did you catch the Bachelor?

Let's just say that I haven't been this mad since Brad Womack. Paul banned me from watching this show ever again. Not necessary. I think I just banned myself.
