Paul's Big Day

Well, the biggest event in this family since the birth of Lucy has come and gone. Paul graduated from BYU Law School on Friday, April 23rd at the Provo Tabernacle. It was a great and memorable day for us as we got to celebrate all that he has accomplished. (and the end of student living...bittersweet believe it or not)

I must give credit where credit is due. Paul has worked so hard throughout his schooling experience; his diligence to his studies never ceased to amaze me. He aimed high throughout law school and was able to achieve a lot. And while it wasn't always easy to have him gone all the time, I just couldn't be more proud of what he has done the last three years. He worked and worked and worked, yet he was also able to make good friends that we are very sad to have to say goodbye to. He loved going to lunch every day, studying at the carrels, and even the occasional "study session" in the workroom with the XBox or a BYU game on the big screen.

A special thank you goes to my mom and dad and Grandma Irene for helping me wrestle the kids for the entire two hour program. You guys earned your gold stars! (Another thank you goes to the good people who are the makers of the dum dum sucker...lifesavers!)

Here are some pictures of the big day. Sabrina's face is priceless in all these pictures. She may be the most excited of all of us to be done!

Happy 4th Birthday Sabrina!

Cliche, I know, but I really can't believe she is 4. My baby is officially a kid. And she's a great kid! Some things we love about Sabrina:
*She is a great kid at school and in primary. Her teachers love her.
*She is very bright and imaginative. There's always a pretend scenario going on in her little head.
*She makes me laugh every day. Really, every day.
*She loves to be with people. She begins each day by saying, "Mom, who's house are we going to today?" (And is rather upset when we aren't going to anyone's house.)
*She has a good attention span. (She watched the entire BBC production of Emma with me. It's 4 hours long, and for the most part she knew what was going on.)
*She is loving and concerned for Lucy.
*She is a great cuddler.
*She is a great shopper and loves the store.
*She is an overall delight and we're glad she's ours!

Here she is on her birthday's throughout the years. Happy birthday Subby! We couldn't have asked for better.

A Bubbly Birthday

I have been thinking for some time now about what kind of birthday precedent I wanted to set for our family. So when Sabrina's 4th birthday came around, I decided she was old enough to have a friend party, but I don't think I am going to start friend parties until the 4th birthday, and even then we are only going to do a friend party on their even year birthdays. Precedent set. So, with that in mind, I asked Sabrina what kind of party she wanted. She told me she wanted a bubble party. So that's what we did. We had bubble decorations, "bubbles" (white balloons) for them to play with, a bubble wrap dance floor to pop while they danced, and their own bubbles to decorate and blow outside. Add some food and cupcakes with bubble gum balls on top, and you've got yourself a party. It turned out to be great fun. (I had to take pictures of the decorations because I was cutting out circles for way too long!)

Easter 2010

Our Easter celebration this year was great. I dyed eggs with Sabrina, we had a fun egg hunt at Shelley's, the Easter Bunny came and left goodies and a few toys, and we got to watch conference and eat a great Easter dinner at Grandma Sampson's. Kyle and Noelle and Co. were in town too, and it was great to spend some time with them and their kids. The only Easter downfall though was the weather. We don't really get Spring in Utah...we get Mild Winter. (This will explain the coats.)

6 Years

I really can't believe we have been married for 6 years today. I'm well aware that I married WAY out of my league. All I had to offer Paul in this deal was a T.V. (actually, the T.V. was bought by my brother...a lost bet) and a '92 Ford Tempo.

We celebrated today by giving each other a high five and taking the girls to lunch at Brick Oven. Romantic, I know. AND ONCE AGAIN I ask the question, "WHY DID WE GET MARRIED DURING FINALS!?" When May arrives, we are going to do something spectacular to celebrate, but as for today, we are just glad we still like each other! Here's to forever with my PJ.

I'll post about Easter later...

You may remember this post from the very pregnant summer of 2008. With the recent events in Mr. McNabb's career (being traded to the Redskins), I'd just like to publicly apologize to PJ for doubting his one and only celebrity sighting. Maybe he does go to DC more than I thought. Perhaps Mr. McNabb even digs DC? Perhaps he asked to be traded there after shopping at that scary Giant?
